Abe, Kishida, Onodera keeping eye on U.S. response | The Japan Times

Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said Sunday he will closely monitor how the U.S. Congress reacts to President Barack Obama’s request for permission to attack Syrian President Bashar Assad’s regime for the alleged use of chemical weapons.

“I took President Obama’s announcement as the expression of his grave determination,” Abe told reporters in Chiba Prefecture. “I will closely watch the process in the U.S. Congress.”

Japan “will continue to closely cooperate with the United States and the international community in collecting and analyzing information,” he added. “We will work to ensure even a little improvement” in the situation.

Both Abe and Kishida did not make clear whether Japan will back a U.S. military strike in the Middle Eastern country, which has been in the midst of a civil war since early 2011.

Comment: I think the real reason Japan is so concerned about what's going on in Syria is because they know that they way the various powers are aligned, this little war, designed so Obama and his bosses at the Fed and in the military industrial complex can sell more weapons to make more money and get rich at our expense, may be the opportunity he's been waiting for. Obama and his bosses don't care about Abe or Japan. They just know that this will temporarily bolster GDP and continue the illusion of a recovery and allow them to keep the game going longer. Screw everyone else, they see it as a win-in for them.

Unfortunately, this "situation" has the very real potential to spin out of control and trigger WWIII. Admittedly, this will give Abe what he wants, the excuse to scrap article 9 of the constitution! But, by the time Japan ramps everything up to go to war, it will be over and globally, billions, with a "B" will already be dead. A false flag war over the use of chemical weapons will likely result in a global thermonulear war. If there's anything left, we could very likely see a Chinese flag flying over both the diet building "Kokkai-gijidō" and the Japanese Imperial Palace "Edo jo!" IMHO, this whole thing really equates to a lose-lose for everyone!
