Governor renews call for U.S. base relocation outside of Okinawa | GlobalPost

Okinawa Gov. Hirokazu Nakaima reiterated his call Thursday to relocate a U.S. Marine Corps air base outside of the island prefecture, noting the existing plan between Japan and the United States to move the facility within Okinawa would take time to realize.

The governor told a plenary session of the prefectural assembly that he will make all-out efforts to realize the relocation, saying that it is a promise he made with the people of Okinawa Prefecture when he successfully ran for re-election in 2010.

Comment: Looks like Okinawa's governor is "Not For Sale" either! I wonder, have we finally found a politician who can keep a promise?? They're doing a lot of construction now up at Camp Schwab. I wonder how this will change all that or if the governor is suddenly going to get sick like a lot of folks who don't do Amerika's bidding do???
